Onward!
As we begin what we call Phase Two of the great loop, we are changing our pace a little. We will now be visiting places that we want to spend some time exploring, and in some cases we will spend multiple days before moving on.
Phase two is more of a time box than a target destination. We have four weeks. So we will see where we are on July 18 and decide what to do at that point.
Departing New Smyrna Beach we found that we had the ICW mostly to ourselves. We went through the Daytona Beach area towards our destination: a place called Marineland, Florida.
There is a small but nice marina right across the street from the Marineland aquatic center, not surprisingly called the Marineland Marina. This is currently one of our favorite marinas because of the floating docks and easy access to the beach.
We ended up staying two nights at Marineland Marina. We walked the beach, rode bikes, and visited the Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. We found a great barbecue place called Captain’s, and even shopped at a throwback hardware store!

Great Pictures, didn’t realize what a “Ranger Tug” was, did a little research. That is quite a Boat! Enjoy your return trip.
