Heading North
Once again we begin our trek north. As you may recall, last fall we made the decision to move the boat down to Florida for the winter to avoid the freezing temperatures and to take care of some maintenance issues. It took about three weeks to travel from Portsmouth, Virginia down to Sanford, Florida. A few weeks ago we made the trip up the St. John’s River to a boat yard in Jacksonville. Now as we restart our Loop travels we will be heading back to Portsmouth.
This phase of our trip should last about three weeks at a relatively leisurely pace. It will include stops at several of the cities that we visited last year. We look forward to making these stops during the cooler spring weather this time around.
Lamb’s Yacht Center has helped us sort out a few issues with the boat. The water pump was about to fail and the oil pressure sender was acting up. So I had these items fixed. They also applied fresh bottom paint and waxed the hull and topsides. Shane was awesome to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a boat yard in Jacksonville.
So both the boat and the crew is ready to go.
