Solomon’s Island

Solomon’s Island

We departed from Deltaville on Tuesday Morning and had some safe but uncomfortable waves for the first hour or so. We have the option in our boat to travel at higher speeds when necessary. By necessary I mean any time Melissa says she is not enjoying herself. So I dropped the hammer and soon we were doing 15 knots across the Chesapeake.

Calm Chesapeake Water

Eventually the water calmed, and by the time we turned into the Patuxent River the water was glassy smooth so we slowed down to enjoy the scenery.

Solomon’s Island hasn’t started their peak season yet. That means some things aren’t yet open, but it also means the slip rental was cheap. Since this was only a stopover for us, we didn’t care about what was open. We did find a good restaurant called CDs and enjoyed a good hamburger.

We stayed at Zanheisers Marina. It is a beautiful area with lots of boats and not much traffic.
