Cape May to Atlantic City
Our trip this day was to take us along the New Jersey ICW. This route is known to be shallow in places so it is not the popular route. We left Cape May late in the morning to time our trip with the rising tide. This gave us the chance to eat a pancake breakfast at the local diner and take another walk through town before casting off at around 1pm. Leaving on a rising tide meant that if we were to run aground, all we would need to do would be to wait a little while until the water floated us away. Fortunately this was unnecessary as we didn’t touch bottom at all.
We arrived in Atlantic City just before dark. A rainstorm came along about 30 minutes after we got tied to the dock.
We ended up staying in Atlantic City an extra day so I could get some work done and so we could time our ocean crossing day with some predicted good weather.
