Pentwater

Pentwater

We were eager to get going again after spending four nights in Leland to wait out the weather. So the night before we planned to leave we moved the boat up to the fuel dock where we filled up the diesel. We then tied up on the dock closest to the entrance to the harbor so we could get an early start.

We left the next morning to find calm water and light winds. It was really nice and the forecast for the following day was not so good, so we decided to travel further than our original plan. So 90 miles later we entered the protected harbor at Pentwater.

This was the first stop where we felt like the city had started to close down for the season. Many of the shops and restaurants looked to be closed during the middle of the week. Maybe they open up towards the weekend. We found a burger place called the Brown Bear that was pretty good.

The bad weather was real the next day so we again stayed off the lake. We took a walk through town and out to the state park. We walked back along the entrance to the harbor and saw the wave action on the lake and were glad to be safely docked.
